Terms of Service

Last Updated: June 2, 2026

Welcome to Fare.

These Terms of Service govern your access to and use of Fare's website, mobile application, and related services, including usefare.app and the Fare app, collectively referred to as the Service.

By accessing or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service.

1. About Fare

Fare is a privacy-first subscription manager that helps users manually track subscriptions, renewals, trial dates, billing cycles, payment notes, and recurring costs.

Fare is designed to help you organize information that you choose to enter yourself. Fare does not connect to your bank account, credit card account, email inbox, financial institution, or payment account.

Fare is not a bank, financial institution, credit monitoring service, financial advisor, accountant, cancellation agent, bill negotiation service, or automated financial data aggregator.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use Fare.

If you are under the age of majority in your jurisdiction, you may use the Service only with permission from a parent or legal guardian.

By using the Service, you represent that you meet these eligibility requirements and have the legal capacity to agree to these Terms.

3. Your Responsibility for Information You Enter

Fare relies on information you manually enter.

You are responsible for:

  • choosing which subscriptions to add
  • entering accurate subscription names
  • entering correct prices
  • selecting the correct billing cycle
  • entering renewal dates
  • entering trial end dates
  • maintaining payment notes
  • updating subscriptions when they change
  • deleting subscriptions you no longer want to track
  • reviewing your actual accounts and provider communications

Fare does not guarantee that user-entered subscription information is accurate, complete, current, or automatically updated.

If you enter an incorrect price, renewal date, billing cycle, or trial date, Fare's summaries, widgets, calendar, and reminders may also be incorrect.

4. Local-First Service

Fare's current product is local-first.

This means subscription records and many app preferences are stored on your device unless you choose to export, import, share, sync, or otherwise transmit data through a feature that requires it.

Local-first storage gives you control, but it also means you are responsible for protecting and backing up your own data.

Fare is not responsible for data loss caused by:

  • deleting the app
  • resetting local app data
  • clearing device storage
  • losing access to your device
  • device damage
  • operating system issues
  • failed backups
  • imported backup files replacing existing data
  • app store or device-level backup behavior outside Fare's control

You should export a backup if you want to preserve your Fare data before changing devices, deleting the app, or resetting local data.

5. Backup, Export, and Import

Fare may allow you to export your local data as a backup file and import a backup file later.

You are responsible for securing exported backup files. Backup files may contain subscription names, prices, renewal dates, trial dates, payment notes, settings, and other information you entered.

Do not share a Fare backup file with anyone unless you are comfortable with them seeing the information inside it.

When you import a backup, it may replace existing local Fare data. You are responsible for choosing the correct backup file.

Fare is not responsible for loss, corruption, disclosure, or misuse of exported backup files.

6. No Financial Advice

Fare is an organizational tool.

Fare does not provide financial, legal, tax, accounting, investment, credit, budgeting, or professional advice.

Any summaries, calculations, labels, charts, widgets, calendar items, renewal counts, spending estimates, or monthly-equivalent values are provided for informational and organizational purposes only.

You should not rely on Fare as the sole source of truth for financial decisions. Always review your actual subscription accounts, billing statements, provider notices, app store subscription settings, and payment records.

7. Subscription Calculations and Estimates

Fare may calculate values such as:

  • monthly value
  • monthly commitment
  • annual cost
  • upcoming charges
  • category breakdowns
  • due soon counts
  • trial endings
  • renewal dates

These values are estimates based on information you enter.

For example, a yearly plan may be divided by 12 to estimate a monthly equivalent. A weekly plan may be annualized and divided by 12. A trial may count as zero until converted.

These calculations do not mean that every subscription is charged monthly, and they may not match your actual payment timing.

Fare does not guarantee that any financial summary is exact.

8. Renewal and Trial Tracking

Fare may help you track renewal dates and trial end dates.

You are responsible for verifying renewal dates and trial dates with each subscription provider.

Fare does not guarantee that:

  • a renewal date is correct
  • a trial date is correct
  • a provider will notify you before charging
  • a subscription will renew at the same price
  • a subscription will not change terms
  • a reminder will be delivered
  • calendar information will be complete
  • all charges will be predicted

If notification features are available, notifications may fail due to device settings, operating system behavior, disabled permissions, app state, battery settings, network conditions, or other reasons outside Fare's control.

9. Cancellation Guidance

Fare may provide cancellation guidance for certain subscriptions.

Cancellation guidance may include:

  • cancellation links
  • account management links
  • support links
  • general cancellation steps
  • provider notes
  • best-effort guidance

Cancellation processes can change. Fare does not guarantee that any cancellation link, step, or guide is accurate, complete, current, or sufficient to cancel a subscription.

A link to a provider's homepage, account page, or support page is not necessarily a direct cancellation link.

You are responsible for confirming cancellation directly with the subscription provider, app store, payment platform, carrier, or billing source.

Fare is not responsible for charges, renewal fees, cancellation failures, missed cancellation deadlines, refunds, disputes, or provider decisions.

10. Third-Party Services and Links

Fare may display, reference, or link to third-party services, websites, logos, brands, support pages, account pages, app stores, cancellation pages, or payment providers.

Third-party services are not controlled by Fare. Their own terms, privacy policies, billing rules, cancellation rules, refund rules, and support processes apply.

Fare is not responsible for:

  • third-party websites
  • third-party content
  • third-party logos
  • third-party pricing
  • third-party account pages
  • third-party cancellation flows
  • third-party support responses
  • third-party billing decisions
  • third-party availability or outages

Your use of any third-party service is at your own risk.

11. Brand Names and Logos

Fare may use third-party names, logos, icons, domains, or trademarks to help users identify subscriptions they choose to track.

All third-party names, logos, and trademarks belong to their respective owners.

Fare is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or officially connected with any third-party subscription provider unless explicitly stated.

The presence of a service in Fare's catalog does not mean Fare has a partnership with that service.

12. Accounts and Sign-In

Fare may currently allow guest use and may include placeholders or future support for account features, such as Sign in with Apple.

If account features are added, you may be responsible for:

  • maintaining account security
  • keeping account information accurate
  • protecting sign-in credentials
  • notifying Fare of unauthorized access
  • complying with any additional account terms

Fare may suspend or terminate account access if we believe an account is being misused, compromised, or used in violation of these Terms.

13. Paid Features, Fare+, Ads, and Purchases

Fare may offer free features and may later offer paid features, including but not limited to:

  • Fare+
  • premium themes
  • premium app icons
  • additional widgets
  • unlimited subscription tracking
  • ad-free experiences
  • lifetime purchases
  • subscriptions
  • other premium features

Paid features may be processed through Apple, Google, Stripe, RevenueCat, or another payment provider.

If you purchase through an app store, your purchase is subject to that app store's terms, payment rules, refund rules, and subscription management process.

Fare does not control app store billing, app store refunds, app store renewal timing, or app store cancellation flows.

If Fare offers subscriptions or auto-renewing purchases, the price, billing period, renewal terms, trial terms, and cancellation instructions should be shown before purchase.

If a paid feature is described as "coming soon," "planned," "placeholder," or similar, it is not guaranteed to launch.

14. Refunds

Refund availability depends on where and how you purchased.

For purchases through Apple or Google, refund requests are generally handled by the app store according to the app store's policies.

For purchases made directly through Fare or usefare.app, any refund terms presented at the time of purchase will apply.

Unless otherwise required by law or stated at purchase, fees may be non-refundable.

15. Acceptable Use

You agree not to misuse the Service.

You may not:

  • violate any law or regulation
  • interfere with the Service's operation
  • attempt to access systems you are not authorized to access
  • reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code except where legally permitted
  • copy, modify, or create derivative works from Fare except as permitted by law
  • use Fare to infringe intellectual property rights
  • upload or transmit malicious code
  • abuse support channels
  • scrape, harvest, or mass extract Fare catalog data without permission
  • use Fare to build a competing service using copied data or design
  • misrepresent your relationship with Fare
  • attempt to bypass payment, subscription limits, or feature restrictions
  • use the Service in a way that could damage, disable, overload, or impair it

We may suspend, restrict, or terminate access for violations of these Terms.

16. User Content

Information you enter into Fare, such as subscription records, plan names, payment notes, and other notes, is your content.

You retain ownership of your content.

You grant Fare a limited right to process your content as needed to provide the Service, including saving, displaying, calculating, backing up, importing, exporting, syncing, or otherwise operating features you choose to use.

In the current local-first version, much of this processing happens on your device.

You represent that you have the right to enter and use the information you provide.

17. Feedback

If you send us feedback, ideas, suggestions, feature requests, designs, bug reports, or other comments, you grant Fare permission to use them without restriction or compensation.

We may use feedback to improve, modify, market, or develop the Service.

Do not send confidential information as feedback.

18. Intellectual Property

Fare, including its name, branding, design, interface, software, graphics, text, icons, and other content, is owned by Fare or its licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws.

These Terms do not grant you ownership of Fare or any Fare intellectual property.

You may use the Service only as permitted by these Terms.

19. Website Content

Content on usefare.app is provided for general informational purposes.

We may update, remove, or change website content at any time.

We do not guarantee that website content is always accurate, complete, available, or current.

Marketing descriptions of planned features are not promises that those features will launch.

20. Privacy

Your use of Fare is also governed by our Privacy Policy.

The Privacy Policy explains how Fare collects, uses, stores, and shares information.

You can contact us about privacy at:

support@usefare.app

21. Changes to the Service

Fare may change over time.

We may add, modify, suspend, or discontinue features at any time, including free features, paid features, catalog data, cancellation guidance, themes, widgets, backup features, website pages, or app behavior.

We are not liable for changes, interruptions, or discontinuation of the Service.

22. Availability

We try to keep the Service useful and available, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access.

The Service may be unavailable due to:

  • maintenance
  • updates
  • bugs
  • device issues
  • app store issues
  • operating system changes
  • third-party outages
  • network issues
  • events outside our control

Some features may not work on all devices, operating systems, browsers, regions, or app versions.

23. Beta, Experimental, and Placeholder Features

Fare may include beta, experimental, preview, or placeholder features.

These features may be incomplete, inaccurate, unstable, unavailable, or changed without notice.

You should not rely on beta or placeholder features for critical decisions.

24. App Store Terms

If you download Fare from the Apple App Store, Google Play, or another app store, your use may also be governed by that store's terms.

The app store may have its own rules for:

  • downloads
  • updates
  • payments
  • subscriptions
  • refunds
  • family sharing
  • cancellation
  • device compatibility

If there is a conflict between these Terms and the app store's required terms, the app store's required terms may apply to your app store relationship.

25. Apple-Specific Terms

If Fare is downloaded through the Apple App Store:

  • These Terms are between you and Fare, not Apple.
  • Apple is not responsible for Fare or its content.
  • Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for Fare.
  • Apple may be a third-party beneficiary of these Terms to the extent required by Apple's terms.
  • Your use of Fare must comply with Apple's applicable App Store terms.

26. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available."

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Fare disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, non-infringement, accuracy, availability, and reliability.

Fare does not warrant that:

  • the Service will be uninterrupted
  • the Service will be error-free
  • subscription calculations will be accurate
  • renewal dates will be accurate
  • cancellation guidance will be accurate
  • notifications will be delivered
  • data will never be lost
  • catalog information will be complete
  • third-party links will work
  • third-party pricing will be current
  • paid features will always remain available

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain warranty disclaimers, so some disclaimers may not apply to you.

27. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Fare and its owners, employees, contractors, agents, affiliates, and service providers will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data, lost savings, lost goodwill, missed renewals, subscription charges, failed cancellations, missed trial deadlines, or financial losses.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Fare's total liability for any claim related to the Service will not exceed the greater of:

  • the amount you paid to Fare for the Service in the 12 months before the claim, or
  • $100

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain liability limitations, so some limitations may not apply to you.

28. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Fare and its owners, employees, contractors, agents, affiliates, and service providers from any claims, damages, liabilities, losses, costs, and expenses, including reasonable attorneys' fees, arising from or related to:

  • your use of the Service
  • your violation of these Terms
  • your violation of law
  • your user content
  • your misuse of third-party services
  • your infringement of another person's rights

29. Termination

You may stop using Fare at any time.

We may suspend, restrict, or terminate your access to the Service if:

  • you violate these Terms
  • we believe your use creates risk or legal exposure
  • we discontinue the Service
  • we are required to do so by law
  • your account or use appears fraudulent, abusive, or harmful

Termination may result in loss of access to certain features or data, especially if future account or cloud features are added.

Sections that by their nature should survive termination will survive, including intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnification, dispute terms, and payment obligations.

30. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time.

If we make material changes, we may notify you by updating the date above, posting a notice on usefare.app, showing an in-app notice, or using another appropriate method.

Your continued use of the Service after updated Terms become effective means you accept the updated Terms.

If you do not agree to updated Terms, stop using the Service.

31. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, without regard to conflict of law principles.

32. Dispute Resolution

Before filing a claim, you agree to contact us at support@usefare.app and try to resolve the dispute informally.

If we cannot resolve the dispute informally, disputes will be handled in the state or federal courts located in the State of Florida, United States, unless applicable law requires otherwise.

You and Fare waive the right to participate in class actions to the fullest extent permitted by law.

Some jurisdictions may not allow mandatory venue clauses or class action waivers, so this section may not apply to all users.

33. Force Majeure

Fare is not responsible for failure or delay caused by events outside our reasonable control, including natural disasters, labor disputes, internet outages, hosting failures, app store outages, platform policy changes, war, terrorism, government action, power failures, or other unexpected events.

34. Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and any additional terms presented for specific features or purchases, form the entire agreement between you and Fare regarding the Service.

If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining parts remain in effect.

Failure to enforce a provision does not waive our right to enforce it later.
